The Hammer of Glory has gone missing. The symbol of Philadelphia Beer Week, a nine pound, four-foot long, silver-topped sledgehammer is inscribed with the word “BEER” and answers to “HOG.” It was last seen on Frankford Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Saturday during the FestivaALE street party.
If you come in contact with the Hammer of Glory, please take it to the nearest bar participating in Philly Beer Week.

The Industry turns one tonight and they’re celebrating with a Philly Beer Week event. They’ll be pouring all the special beers they’ve had on during beer week for $5. There will also be passed hors d’oeuvres. A party bus will also be running between the Industry and Good Dog Bar for people who have no idea where Pennsport is.
And it is all for a good cause with 20% of proceeds going to Pennsport based Edward O’Malley Athletic Association.

It’s only the fifth day of Philly Beer Week and it seems the staff of the Foodery’s Pine street location are already in need of a break. Normally the staff picks at the Foodery are exquisite beers, today, they’re choosing recovery.

For all those who think Zeppoli in Collingswood is a bridge too far away. Good news, Zeppoli and Joey Baldino are coming to Alla Spina for Industry Night on Monday, June 3rd. Of course people who complain about going to Collingswood probably also complain about going to north Broad, but whatever, more food for us.
Baldino is serving up a Sicilian feast as Alla Spina also welcomes St. Louis’ Perennial Brewing and Colorado’s Great Divide Brewing to the house for Philly Beer Week. The breweries will be offering discounted drafts and Baldino will be preparing a feast of dishes like pistachio sausage, swordfish spiedini and much more.
As always, the food is free and the drinks are cheap. It all gets started at 10 p.m., a hospitality pay stub is required for admission, or visiting Beer Week peeps can get in with a business card.

Dock Street Brewing and their partners at the Four Seasons are continuing their collaborative beer seasons. Yesterday was brew day for their summer beer, Crackle and Squeeze. Look for this beer, made with meyer lemons and cracked pink and black peppers to debut during Philly Beer Week.
Right now, you can still drink the spring seasonal, O.P. Yum (oates and pomegranate beer) at The Lounge in the Four Seasons. A reasonable way to end an afternoon of museums or Center City shopping.
