Far From Home, the newest twittering food truck, debuts today at Love Park. [Meal Ticket]

Vesuvio has been replaced by Little Bar. The truly smaller bar has been spiffed up and is now open. [Zagat]

Fathom Seafood House is aiming to swing open its doors this Monday. [Meal Ticket]

A sign in the window at the former Flying Monkey Deuce proclaims a new cafe is on its way.

The revolving door location that most recently has been Center City Grille is being re-conceptualized as Xchange Bar & Grille. The new bar seeks to feature a stock market for drinks with demand driving prices. [The Insider]

Thursday night is a good night for Xochitl. Margaritas are half-off from 5 to 7pm. The “El Sabor” option is available for dinner, $23 gets you guacamole, an appetizer and taco too. And then Staff Meal has the whole menu available for 50% off from 10pm to midnight.

Beer Floats

Tonight at the Society Hill Hotel they are experimenting with Sly Fox beer floats. Although not the fruity beer floats Uncle Jimmy hypothesizes about, beer and ice cream is an idea whose time has come. And from 5 to 8 pm they are just $2.75!

Cheap Dates – Historic District

Mark and Audrey take a date check out the “historic history” of the Philadelphia. They intrepid tourists start the day off with sandwiches at Cafe Ole on north 3rd Street and end it with a beer at City Tavern. In between they fit in some touristy stuff.

We cannot however get behind a beer at City Tavern. It might just be the most tourist trap place to go in all of Philadelphia. We recommend ending your day of history relaxing with a cold one out front of the Society Hill Hotel. Plenty of history on that corner of 3rd and Chestnut, plus lots of great people watching as Old City comes alive for the evening.

Tuesday Night

Yards is hosting a happy hour at the Society Hill Hotel tonight, and anytime you get the Yards crew out, it’s bound to be a fun time.

And in South Philadelphia tonight at Cantina Los Caballitos it’s their DJ night. And we can attest the food has gotten much, much better since the arrival of Chef Mark McKinney.
