Lights, Camera, Brews. The Flashpoint Theatre Company is throwing their Second Annual Flashpoint Brewfest, Saturday, November 10th. Come and taste plenty of brews and support the theatre company while you sip. A ticket will get you a tasting glass, a bar drink of your choice, snacks from the Triumph kitchen and plenty of samples of local home brews. While there, be sure to vote for your favorite beer and also catch a sneak peek of Flashpoint’s upcoming productions.

Bee prepared, the Philadelphia Honey Festival is right around the corner. See what all the buzz is about from September 7th to the 9th as the city’s beekeeping community comes together to raise awareness about the importance of bees, while having fun and tasting delicious products. Activities range from kiddie crafts to cooking demonstrations to honey-based beer tastings. Franklin Fountain and Little Baby’s will be among the businesses participating.

Ah, poutine, arguably the best Canadian import prior to Ryan Gosling, and even more delicious. This Montrealean dish usually consists of French fries, brown gravy, and cheese curds. Due to its popularity, poutine has trickled down into the good old USA and some Philadelphia restaurants have caught on. These six places serve it up right.

Drinkers West is not normally a place we’d spend a Tuesday night (or any night, really), but next Tuesday, February 8, the U. City bar is hosting a special “Cult TV” Quizzo night based around Arrested Development, otherwise known as The Greatest Television Show of All Time. If you’ve never seen it, we recommend you cancel all of your weekend plans and watch every single episode (all three seasons can be watched for free on Hulu).

Tonight is the finals of Varga Bar’s Pins n Pinups Championship. The bracket style final faces off at 9pm with a pin of Flying Fish Exit 16 battling Triumph Brewing’s Uber Pils. The first keg to kick will be declared the champion.
There has been some trash talking going on and even some liberal use of Photoshop. Check out the images below.
