Today, Aramark, the Phillies and Federal Donuts made it official, hot donuts and fried chicken will be available at Citizens Bank Park this year. Aramark employees are currently working at the two other Federal Donuts locations, making sure they have the twice-fried chicken down pat before opening day. As the Federal Donuts team said, they don’t want to dumb down the chicken for the ballpark. Three types of chicken, a glazed, naked and still to be finalized custom dry blend will be available at the Fednuts stand in left field. Hot donuts (no fancies) will also be on the menu. Expect some familiar flavors plus a unique taste, made exclusively for the ballpark. Steve Cook and company are confident they’ll be able to meet the demand.

Victory Brewing and Alla Spina have been coming up with collaborative brews since the bar opened earlier this year. And on Monday, Januay 7th, the North Broad bar will be debuting Victory Hundred Horse during a special Alla Spina Industry Night. Joining the Alla Spina crew will be Paul Kahan of One Off Hospitality group (he’s the chef/owner at Chicago’s Blackbird, Avec, Publican, Big Star Tacos, and Publican Quality Meats). Kahan will be joined by Publican chef de cuisine Brian Huston and beer director, Michael McAvena.
Hundred Horse is the collaboration of Alla Spina and the Publican team. It is a chestnut ale brewed with imported English & German malts and hops, and fermented with a German Kolsch yeast. Expect a nutty, light, malt-forward flavor.
But I’m not in the hospitality industry. When can I get Hundred Horse? »

Victory Brewing Co. released Red Thunder last week at their Downingtown brewery but only eight kegs of the wine barrel aged Baltic Thunder are going to make it out to other bars. Fittingly, one of the bars where the beer will be tapped at is Earth Bread + Brewery in Mount Airy. Victory’s Baltic Thunder is based on a recipe by Tom Baker, the owner of Earth Bread + Brewery.
Head in tomorrow, Thursday, November 29th when the beer will be tapped and Victory brewers will be on hand with glassware and other giveaways.
