Vientiane

Around the Web: Thai Edition

We really struck a chord with our resolution to find the best Thai food in the Philadelphia area. The comments are still coming in a week after the post ran and we’re still adding places to check out. For instance:

Amy Strauss reviews Phoenixville’s Thai L’Elephant and finds a Thai restaurant that strives to be authentic. [The Phoenix via Apples and Cheese, Please]

The OTHER guy who ate everything tries out Vientiane Cafe, the Thai/Vietnamese BYOB in West Philadelphia and is glad he did. [The OTHER guy who ate everything]

And although far from authentic Thai, we cannot help but to be intrigued by P.Y.T.’s Thai Chicken Satay Burger. It’s made of fresh ground chicken breast and blended in a spicy Thai satay. The burger is topped with pickled carrot, cucumber and red onion and is served on a toasted potato roll. [P.Y.T.]

Cheap Dates: Baltimore Ave

Posted by Foobooz on July 12th, 2007

Cheap Dates

Our favorite happy couple, Mark and Audrey head to West Philadelphia’s Baltimore Avenue for a truly cool cheap date. The pair get iced coffee at Satellite Cafe, then Vientiane for a Southeast Asian dinner, followed by free Friday night jazz in Cedar Park. They end the evening with cheap beers at the dive bar in the back of Dahlak, an Ethiopian restaurant on Baltimore Avenue.
