Kraftwork launches
Kinetic Collaboration, a Kristal Weizenbock beer brewed at
Yards Brewing Company. This special brew is an American take on a traditional German Weizenbock and comes in at 7.1% alcohol by aroma. The aroma is a balance of clove and banana with a refreshing touch of grapefruit from the addition of Centennial hops.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to Kinetic Sculpture Derby.
The event also raises awareness for Trenton Avenue Arts Festival, which is set for Saturday, May 18th. At least two sculptures that have participated in the derby in the past will be out on the sidewalk and the representatives from Yards will also be on hand.

On Tuesday, March 5th Steve Wildy from Alla Spina and Keith Raimondi from Lemon Hill, as well as the fine folk at Yard’s Brewery will be joining forces to create special cocktails and a beer. The team will be utilizing a barrel that has aged Vieux Carre (rye, cognac, sweet vermouth, Benedictine) for thirty days, then harbored a Tavern Spruce ale and finally another barrel-aged cocktail to create three unique drinks.
The dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. at Lemon Hill where guests will enjoy the classic Vieux Carre and then the barrel-aged version along with hors d’oeuvres. Uber car services will then shuttle guests to Alla Spina for a two-course dinner and dessert paired with the Tavern Spruce and Old Square Spruce cocktail.
The dinner is $75 per person.

Yards Brewing used to brew Trubbel de Yards as a seasonal when the brewery was but a young pup in the late-nineties. The beer is described on its label as a “Belgian-style tripel dubbel ale.” The beer promises aromas of biscuit, chocolate and caramel, with the spiciness of a tripel and the maltiness of a dubbel. It made a very limited return in 2012 but this year promises a wider distribution. The beer is currently available in big bottles at the brewery and will start showing up on store shelves after the new year. On Thursday, January 24th, the beer will be officially launched at Johnny Brenda’s. Mark your calendars now.
